Weekend Lowdown – January 25, 2007

Head over to the Belmont on Friday to check out a show put together by the guys over at Webvomit and GotDetroit. Playing the show will be Freer, The Decks and Carjack. This is a good chance to get out and see some up and coming Detroit bands.

There are also a few other good shows this weekend. On Friday, catch The Hard Lessons at Small’s. Shiny Toy Guns along with The Nice Device will be at the Stick. Over at the Lager House are Heroes and Villians and Tim V Lamp.

Saturday head out to the Halfass in Ann Arbor for The Silents Years, The Satin Peaches and Brandon Wiard. Also in Ann Arbor the Electric 6 will be taking the stage at the Bling Pig along with Johnny Headband and Wolfbait.All of you Howard Stern fans will want to catch The Killers of Comedy at the Majestic.

Johnny Loftus of the Metro Times profiles 3 of the bands that will be playing this year’s Blowout. Also catch Johnny along with Brian Smith in the latest episode of “Smoke Break”.
