Update: The White Stripes
The White Stripes played a small show in Nashville this past weekend and played through some new songs off the upcoming album "Icky Thump". Ben Blackwell was at the show and gives us all the details.Fender and Gibson are now making guitars aimed for younger girls that have Hello Kitty on them as well as some guitars that are heart shaped. (Note from Señor Garo: I've actually seen these Hello Kitty gits - I sauntered past a Sanrio store this weekend at Colorado Mills while taking my kids to the Build-a-Bear Workshop. The concept of the guitars doesn't bother me, because I'm OK with ANY gimmick that'll get more kids playing guitar. What repulsed me was the set of notations on the box, telling girls to "be a rebel" and "break hearts" ... Thanks, Sanrio, for turning a guitar into another piece of mere flirtation fluff rather than attempting to properly empower young girls with it.)
