I Already Feel Sick.

Not to be outdone today, the Metro Times announced the 11th annual Blowout which of course will take place March 5-8th, same day as the Detour Rock City festival. So where will the Blowout launch party be? Will bands have to choose what festival to play? Are there even enough quality bands around town to fill all the slots on both festivals? More important, are there enough people who attend shows to support 2 festivals the same weekend? I guess we will find out. There are so many months where nothing is going on around here, April, May, June or October would have been great for one of these festivals to take place. Hopefully the organizers of Cityfest aren’t thinking of moving their event to March, but why not just get everything out of the way at once. Maybe I’ll change my mind later but I’m not a big fan of both of these events taking place at the same time.
