Though it was cold and wet outside, Dick Valentine kept our hearts ablaze with an acoustic solo set last night at The Belmont. It was a night of drink, cheer and song – a night that shall last forever in Detroit lore. Dick’s set included such Electric Six classics as “Night Vision,” “Pink Flamingos,” “Dance Commander,” “Rock N Roll Evacuation,” “Lenny Kravitz,” and “She’s White.” However, the hightlight of the evening was easily Dick’s stage crowd rendition of “Gay Bar,” a touching ode to Belmont owner Daren Grow.
