Rag Wrap – April 16, 2008

We all know by now that The Raconteurs are coming home to play not one but two shows at The Filmore on June 7th an 8th. Then, we learned earlier today that the Von Bondies will be taking a headlining spot on the inaugural Rock City Festival (It’s been four long years since they last played in Detroit and according to their Myspace blog they are back to being a “2 boy/2 girl” lineup). Finally, we find out that Was (Not Was) will be playing at The Majestic on May 9th complete with a new two disc album.

Not to be outdone, the 2008 Detroit Music Awards lineup has been announced. The bill includes performances by The Muggs, Crud, American Mars, and Blowout standouts Doop & The Inside Outlaws. The event will be held at The Filmore on Friday, April 25th and tickets range from $1,000 to $20.
