This week, The Metro Times has an story on the Terrible Twos; not to be outdone, Real Detroit Weekly also has an article on The Frustrations. These X! Records label mates must have one hell of a press agent to get two stories in one week. The Terrible Twos will be opening up for The Dirtbombs on their upcoming West Coast tour stops, so they’re pretty damn good at booking gigs as well.
While we are on topic of The Dirtbombs, they have three new singles out. The first is on Ireland’s Infirmary Phonographic and contains “Rocket USA” (by Suicide) b/w “I Can’t Stop”. The second new single is on Australia’s Stained Circles and has The Dirtbombs’ ode to INXS “Need You Tonight” b/w “Devil Inside.” The third new single is on In The Red and is called Dirtbombs Play Sparks which has two Sparks covers, “Sherlock Holmes” b/w “Nothing To Do.”
Speaking of record labels, Real Detroit Weekly goes in-depth with Scotty Hagen, owner of the delicious Belly Ache Candy Shoppe. I got a cavity just reading this article.
Also in the new Real Detroit Weekly, they also have a feature on the Detroit Music Awards, which is happening at The Filmore on Friday night. The Muggs will be performing tracks off of their forthcoming album which will be released locally at the Magic Bag on Friday, May 9th.
While we’re on the subject of The Muggs, Real Detroit Weekly talks to their drummer Matt Roast about his “rock ‘n’ roll day job” helping people who’ve pushed daisy.
Speaking of pushing daisy’s, Real Detroit Weekly also has a great Q & A with John Schmersal of The Enon and his passion for gardening. The Enon will be playing the Crofoot in Pontiac this Monday, April 29th.
See how all that works together?
