December in Detroit means a shitload of holiday concerts.
L.A. Record talks to Timmy “Vulgar” Lampinen and his Human Eye cohorts about octopus fashion, plus their new tunes. Here’s MT’s review of Human Eye’s latest Fragments of the Universe Nurse.

Ryan Allen looks at the “sixth man,” also known as the lovable sound guy.
Also in the Metro Times this week, MCR’s Leyland “Lee” DeVito opens our eyes to Alan Scheurman’s new solo album Old Patterns.
Last week, Metro Times listens to the new EP from Mick Bassett & the Marthas, Here’s the Whirlwind. Speaking of which, since I was devouring some beef brisket and apple barbecue sauce down the street at Slows, I missed these guys play last Friday night at the Lager House. However, I made it in time to see the Satin Peaches and JSB Squad put on an outstanding show. JSB Squad had about twelve band members on stage, two of which played somewhat rusty trombones (zing).
Pas/Cal has a new video for the song “Summer Is Almost Here.”
Kid Rock gets snubbed for being a good guy.
My Old Kentucky Blog talks to Mason Proper, while MCB has a video with Mason Proper before/after their show this past Thanksgiving Eve at the Magic Stick with The Silent Years and Deastro. Also, their lead singer (Jonathan Visger) has a very distinct voice that will hunt me for the rest of my life’s younger years (which is less then 14 months to be exact.) Media Junkie has a full recap of the show.
Electric Six were in the Freep last week, and here are the five most ridiculous things said by Dick Valentine two days later while on stage at St. Andrews Hall.
Hey, there is this local band named The Hard Lessons, they have been touring a lot and working really, really hard. Check them out.
