Answers by John Webb (vocals)

Tell our Readers about your band:
We are basically a Cure cover band… that doesn’t really sound all that much like the Cure…we are working really hard to get people out to our shows by telling them that we are an electro/rock dance party. Works every time. Once lured into our trap we only play “Friday I’m In Love’” (that is a Cure song).

Should the Blowout be moved to a warm time of year or should everyone shut up just get more drunk?
The Cold just gives everyone a better reason to drink whiskey, if it was summer someone would lose an eye with umbrella drinks. Lawsuits would follow – awkward.

What is your favorite Blowout memory?
When our friend said someone was as old as Pyramid. And followed by saying they were one of the original settlers of America.

Who are you most excited to see at this year’s Blowout?
Too many really good bands to pick one.

Who in your band can eat the most paczkis?
James Lees Sterling.

Why should we check out your band?
Because you may be surprised how much fun you would have… and we are really nice.

Love Meets Lusts play with Millions of Brazilians at the New Dodge on Thursday, March 5th.

Tell our Readers about your band:
Derek: I’ve heard the word “Dance Rock”  a lot when people explain our music and I like that, so I now say, “it’s dance rock.”Zoz: I’ve also heard the term “jump up” I like this description a lot… Someone in Chicago said we sounded like ZZ Top and I thought that was the most amazing thing I’ve ever heard.

Should the Blowout be moved to a warm time of year or should everyone shut up just get more drunk?
Derek: YES! I hate the cold.

What is your favorite Blowout memory?
Derek: Seeing Freer for the first time
Zoz: Seeing Nick do naked snow angels outside of Atlas bar when Freer was loading out.

Who are you most excited to see at this year’s Blowout?
Derek: Zoos of Berlin, Daniel, & I crime (I always miss them)

Zoz: The Hadit’s (best show of blowout last year) Lightning Love, Daniel, Zoos, Stare Into the Sun and Silent Years.

Who in your band can eat the most paczkis?
Derek: Nick would eat 9, he would also save room for “meats and cheeses.”
Zoz: Nick, he eats more than any human on the planet.

Why should we check out your band?
Derek:”Have you ever made love to a beautiful girl, makes ya feel like it’s not such a bad world”
MOBz makes people feel like its not such a bad world.
Zoz: We fill voids.

Tell our Readers about your band:
Sorry, but I am going to have to correct you right off the bat here. We are a blog that just happens to be a band also. I’m pretty sure that this has not happened before, and we are quite proud of our trailblazing activities. JR handles all of the musical aspects including running beats and guitar while I am in charge of vocals. Sometimes we employ an Asian bass player Vinnie. Our music has been described as “Wanna-be Electric Six lyrics and phony Bauhaus beats.” This is probably accurate. Our blog has been described as amateurish, inept, and in need of an editor.

Should the Blowout move to a warm time of year or should everyone shut up and just get more drunk?
I think everyone should shut up and get more drunk, and even though the 4am bar time bill hasn’t passed yet, we all should pretend it has passed. I believe there are no police in Hamtramck anyways.

What is your favorite Blowout memory?
I once saw a picture of John Szymanski playing with the Wildbunch.

Who are you most excited to see at this year’s Blowout?

I’m going to try to catch some of Public Pubes on Thursday. They play a tad before us, and feature my future ex wife. I like what I hear from Sik Sik Nation and will probably skip our set to check them out. Great Lakes Myth Society is always great. I played tambourine for Elle and the Fonts for 3 songs before I was terminated.

Who in the band can eat the most paczkis?
Since Vinnie is Asian, he is disqualified. So I’ll go with JR on this one.

Why should we check out your band?
If you are a new admirer or curiosity has bitten you, and want to catch a song or two to see what the deal is I wouldn’t recommend seeing us at the Blowout. We are like a novel by Fitzgerald or Dickens. You can’t just read a page to get the whole story. In this sense, the Blowout system is flawed. Plus we’re the only band who is stimulating the local economy by giving away our guest passes to contest winners.

Okay, I just now noticed that there's lots of "man love" going on in these band photos I posted.
