The brilliant musical scientists behind Silverghost know how to make a song that screws itself right down into the pleasure center of your brain and stays there for weeks. A-mazing.

Ran over to Skipper’s again right after Child Bite to see The Mourning Voices and was not disappointed.
Here’s the Kid Chomps playing to a packed Gates of Columbus Hall. Their set earned GoC the title of Best Place To Get Strangled By A Parachute In Hamtramck.
With permission, here’s an mp3 of the whole Illy Mack Blowout set from Thursday. Enjoy!
The highlight of a very well-highlighted (highlit?) night, Black Lodge, as you might be able to tell from the evidence presented above, Fucking. Killed. It. Look out for a bonus Jesus Chainsaw Massacre appearance on the second song!
Blue Snaggletooth are excellent musicians with row after row of straight, white teeth. AND LASERS. Check ‘em out.
After seeing them in person at Jean’s, I would gladly let any of these gentlemen keep my bees. All of the songs they played were amazingly written and flawlessly performed.
Also, big up to whoever was blathering on about their yogurt and salad intake behind us FOR THE ENTIRE SET.
Atlas Bar was unable to fully contain the sounds of the wonderful Blasé Splee. Residents of the surrounding houses were forced to buy wristbands by armed Metro Times security forces.
Here’s Robin Parrent janglin’ out at Kelly’s on Friday!
Illy Mack blew everyone away at Whiskey In The Jar, and then after a few songs they blew the strings off their guitar (an instrument you play by banging it on a keyboard). We made an audio recording of almost the whole set, so if it’s alright with the illie macklers, maybe a torrent is in the works.
Those delightful German fellows from Zoos of Berlin play to a packed house at Paycheck’s.
Playing a kickass set at Gates of Columbus, this may be the only time you get to see another member of WCTM Gold! besides Scottie show you their titties.
A lovely duet from Legendary Creatures live at Skipper’s.
Earlier this month Motor City Rocks announced we’d try to interview all 170 Blowout bands (the number used to be 200, but now it’s 170? I don’t know why either). We fell short, but we’re very proud of where we ended up. If you’ve been keeping count, we interviewed 28 of the 170 Blowout bands. That’s 16% my friends! It was a ballsy attempt, next year we’re going to get the full 100%.
We had to scurry to render and up all of our interviews from this weekend. So 13 got posted last night! To help you with any you might have missed, as well as to give you a clear cut road map of some of the bands you should consider seeing this weekend.
All of the band links below go to the interview page, which includes a link to their myspace (so you can hear their tunes), a photo (so you can swoon at them), and the the rest of the bands they’re playing with (so you can decide whether to stick around or stumble to the next bar).
