Pitchfork has all the details on the much delayed full length from Pas/Cal. I Was Raised on Matthew, Mark, Luke & Laura is scheduled for release on July 22 on Le Grand Magistery records.

detss Detroit Sounds and Spirits 05 pascal The fourth annual Detroit Sounds and Spirits Holiday Spectacular is this Friday (12/23) at the Magic Stick. There will be 25+ bands on two stages along with emcess from Radio Fever, and ‘some video surprises.’ Bands include Blanche, The Paybacks, Brendan Benson, ExMix Allstars (Esquire, Marcie VonBondie and Snitch), Thunderbirds Are Now!, SSM: Szymanski (Hentchmen), Shettler (ex-Sights) and Morris (Cyril Lords), Pas/Cal, The Muldoons (8 & 11-year-old brothers Shane & Hunter w/ dad on drums), The Holy Fire, Loretta Lucas & the Larkspurs, The Sirens, Danny Dollrod, The Come Ons, Windy & Carl, A Thousand Times Yes, Sunshine Doray, The Volebeats, ManRay ManRay (featuring the Dirtbombs’ Mick Collins), Nightmoves, Berg and Buick, Jawbone, The Dollfaces, American Mars, The Thom McAn Carolers. Admission is $15, doors are at 9pm (festivities begin at 10pm) and 18+ are welcome. Celebrants are encouraged to bring a dish to pass. Proceeds benefit COTS, the Coalition on Temporary Shelter.

Last Christmas

Hey kids, are you looking for that perfect Christmas gift? Well check out this limited edition split 12 inch from Pas/Cal and Asobi Seksu. Pas/Cal covers Wham’s “Last Christmas”, while Asobi Seksu does their take on the Ramone’s Merry Christmas (I Don’t Want to Fight Toinght). The record will be released on the brand new Romantic Air Recording Company, which is Pas/Cal’s own imprint. Made In Detroit: Pas/Cal

General Motors sticks with the whole made in Detroit theme by nabbing Pas/Cal‘s tune “Come On, Let’s Go” for a Saturn commercial. Also, Pitchfork recently reviewed Pas/Cal’s new album.
