The fourth annual Detroit Sounds and Spirits Holiday Spectacular is this Friday (12/23) at the Magic Stick. There will be 25+ bands on two stages along with emcess from Radio Fever, and ’some video surprises.’ Bands include Blanche, The Paybacks, Brendan Benson, ExMix Allstars (Esquire, Marcie VonBondie and Snitch), Thunderbirds Are Now!, SSM: Szymanski (Hentchmen), Shettler (ex-Sights) and Morris (Cyril Lords), Pas/Cal, The Muldoons (8 & 11-year-old brothers Shane & Hunter w/ dad on drums), The Holy Fire, Loretta Lucas & the Larkspurs, The Sirens, Danny Dollrod, The Come Ons, Windy & Carl, A Thousand Times Yes, Sunshine Doray, The Volebeats, ManRay ManRay (featuring the Dirtbombs’ Mick Collins), Nightmoves, Berg and Buick, Jawbone, The Dollfaces, American Mars, The Thom McAn Carolers. Admission is $15, doors are at 9pm (festivities begin at 10pm) and 18+ are welcome. Celebrants are encouraged to bring a dish to pass. Proceeds benefit COTS, the Coalition on Temporary Shelter.
