Located in the Detroit enclave of Hamtramck, the Belmont materialized in 2003 and has quickly become a choice destination for Detroit rock scensters. The stage is frequented by hot Motor City up-and-comers and the drinks flow at a price much cheaper than other Detroit rock hangouts. The atmosphere is a bit classier than a dive bar, but it manages to stay away from too much pretension. On warm nights, though those are rare in Detroit of course, the Belmont has a great courtyard for mingling with friends while one of the city’s best live bands play inside. If all that doesn’t interest you, you simply have to appreciate the “Punk, Pabst and Porn” nights!
