Gore Gore Girls

Gore Gore Girls Band PhotoThe Gore Gore Girls have gone through a few lineup changes since they formed in 1997, but have still managed to be a mainstay on the Detroit music scene under the leadership of Amy Surdu (guitar and vocals). As with many of the Detroit bands, the Gore Gore Girls' style crosses many musical and generational boundaries. With a sound that incorporates 60’s girl group style and Motown soul, along with some raw punk, the trio lays down songs that are gritty, catchy and fun. The band is hardly seen without their trademark stage attire, which consists of all white outfits, complete with go-go boots. The band’s first full length release, entitled Strange Girls on the Get Hip label, came out in 2000 and was followed up by Up All Night in 2002, also on Get Hip.

In 2004, Little Steven invited the Gore Gore Girls to play at his ultra hip Underground Garage Festival in Randall's Island New York. In the fall, the GGG's will tour with the Cramps and release two EPs followed by a full-lenght in spring of 2005 on the Get Hip label.
