Hentchmen

the hentchmen band photoThe Hentchmen describe their sound as ‘hit and run’. Longing for the excitement of the rock & roll of the past, and bored with the endless flow of generic commercial music, The Hentchmen assembled themselves in the early 1990’s. They crafted a new take on garage rock with a 60’s influence and minimal approach (guitar, organ & drums).

After turning out their unique sound for over decades, they are staples in the Detroit music community, and they have the records to prove it. The band signed to NYC-based Norton Records back in 1992. In total, The Hentchmen released over five full-lengths and over fifteen singles. Mike (aka Mike Latulippe) and Johnny (aka John Szymanski) are also members of The Paybacks and the bands recorded a split EP on Rex Records. In 2004, the Hentchmen left Norton Records after a ten year run and signed with Detroit based indie Times Beach.
