Who the hell in Detroit is this Jim Diamond we speak of, you ask? More than anyone else, Diamond is behind the signature Detroit sound. As the proprieter of Detroit's world famous Ghetto Recorders (est. 1996), Jim brought new life to the recording process by reverting to the old. The studio's collection of vintage gear and analog recording equipment entices bands from all over the world to the Motor City.

The impressive list of acts that Diamond's performed with, produced or engineered include The Dirtbombs, Electric Six, The Witches, Bantam Rooster, The Come Ons, The Volebeats, The Gore Gore Girls, The Mooney Suzuki, The Compulsive Gamblers, The Dirtys, The Ponys, The Volebeats, The Go, Outrageous Cherry, The Clone Defects, They Come In Threes, Love Me Nots, The Sights, The White Stripes, The Hentchmen... well, you get the point. it's a long, impressive list. Diamond was a bassist in The Dirtbombs until bowing out in 2004 to focus on production responsiblities.
